The 2005 Rutgers baseball team has something to prove. The last time the Rutgers baseball team failed to advance to the postseason (1984), nearly half of the current team was not even born. Despite winning 30 games in 2004 for the seventh-straight season, the Scarlet Knights dropped its final six BIG EAST games and finished fifth in the league standings, on the outside looking in at the four-team BIG EAST Baseball Championship. With 26 letterwinners returning, the Scarlet Knights seek to re-establish their rightful place among the conference and region's elite programs.

February-02-05 Rutgers Football Announces 2005 Recruiting Class
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers University head football coach Greg Schiano announced his 2005 recruiting class this afternoon during a press conference at the Hale Center. The 22-member class includes 10 student-athletes who competed scholastically in New Jersey, one junior college performer, six Florida standouts and two from New York and Canada and one from Pennsylvania. It is the fifth recruiting class for Schiano, who was named head coach on December 1, 2000.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers’ severely-depleted roster continued to limit the Scarlet Knights’ wrestling team as RU was forced to forfeit two matches in a 34-7 loss to Rider on Wednesday at the College Avenue Gymnasium in New Brunswick, NJ. The Scarlet Knights move to 5-6 on the season, while the Broncs improve to 9-5.
