PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers University senior Nate Jones (Scotch Plains, NJ) has earned Preseason All-America honors (third team) from Athlon Sports. Jones was also rated the eighth-best kick returner in the nation by The Sporting News. Jones received the honors in the football yearbooks of the respective publications.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers University head men’s lacrosse coach Jim Stagnitta has been named USILA Division I National Coach of the Year, the organization announced at its annual All-American banquet. This is the second postseason award garnered by Stagnitta, who was also named ECAC Coach of the Year.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Junior third baseman Vinny Esposito (Middletown, NJ) was selected in the 22nd round, 650th overall, by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2003 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. Esposito is the first Rutgers player selected thus far.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - RU men's track and field sophomores Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA), David Klics (Lincoln Park, NJ) and Anthony Butler (Pittsgrove, NJ) have received All-East honors based on their performances at the NCAA Regional Championships, hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, May 30-31.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Three members of the Rutgers women’s track and field team, junior Jen Austin (Garfield, NJ), senior Danielle Hobson (West Orange, NJ) and sophomore Shameka Marshall (Mizpah, NJ), have received All-East honors based on their performances at the ECAC Championships, hosted by Princeton University, May 15-18. The last time Rutgers was represented in three different events in national competition was 1982.
