SYRACUSE, NY – The Rutgers men’s track and field team finished second in the BIG EAST Championships that were completed on Sunday at the Carrier Dome, with 168.50 points. Notre Dame won the 2005 men’s championship with 182 points.

WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Cory Rodriguez (Bridgewater, NJ) banged out three hits with three RBI and Ryan Hill (Hillsdale, NJ) homered for his first collegiate hit and added another RBI to back a strong effort from RU starter Matt Pustay (Hamilton, NJ) and reliever Sean Spicer (Spring River, NY) as Rutgers defeated William & Mary, 6-3, this afternoon. With the win, RU improves to 2-0 for the first time since opening the 2001 season 6-0. W&M is now 3-2.

BOCA RATON, FL – On the second day of competition at the Florida Atlantic Tournament in Boca Raton, FL, the Rutgers softball team (0-4) dropped a close 3-0 decision to North Carolina State and in the final game of the evening, the Scarlet Knights fell to the eighth-ranked Michigan Wolverines by a score of 8-0.
