BRONX, NY - The Rutgers University women's cross country team improved upon its ninth place showing from a year ago with its best performance in program history at the 2005 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 28, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The Scarlet Knights scored 217 points to secure sixth place out of a field of 16 teams.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Andy Roy (Wall, NJ) and Chelsea Newton (Monroe, LA) headlined the list of Rutgers Athletics 2004-2005 department-wide award winners. Rutgers Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Robert E. Mulcahy III presented the awards at halftime of the Rutgers-Navy Homecoming football game Oct. 29 at Rutgers Stadium.
