February-26-05 Rutgers Gymnastics Finishes Second Against West Virginia, Bridgeport
PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers gymnastics team (10-5, 1-5 EAGL) fell just short of defeating 2004 defending East Atlantic Gymnastics League champion West Virginia on Saturday evening at the Livingston Recreation Center. The Mountaineers took first place with 193.150, while the Scarlet Knights scored a season-high 192.525 points to finish second, followed by Bridgeport in third place with 185.725.

WEST POINT, NY – Helen Magomedova (Brooklyn, NY) earned a 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 victory at fourth singles, but the Rutgers women’s tennis team lost to Army on Saturday afternoon, 6-1, at West Point, NY.

February-25-05 Big Inning Carries No. 13 Georgia Tech Past Rutgers, 11-6
ATLANTA, GA – Wes Hodges hit two home runs and a double in his first three at bats and No. 13 Georgia Tech scored eight times in the sixth inning to break the game open and defeat Rutgers, 11-6 in the series opener at Russ Chandler Stadium. Freshman Todd Frazier (Toms River, NJ) homered and added four RBI to pace the Scarlet Knights.

PITTSBURGH, PA – Junior Michelle Campbell (Princeton, NJ) notched her sixth career double-double to lead the No. 9/9 Rutgers women’s basketball team (22-5, 13-2 BIG EAST) to a 63-42 victory at Pittsburgh (12-14, 4-11 BIG EAST) Feb. 25.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Following its season-opening three-game sweep of William & Mary, the Rutgers baseball team (3-0) will head to Atlanta, GA for a three-game series with No. 13 Georgia Tech (6-1), beginning with a single game at 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Seniors Andy Roy (Wall, NJ) and Chris Ressa (Andover, NJ) posted victories in their final match at the College Avenue Gymnasium, but the Scarlet Knights fell just short of upending No. 23 Army on Thursday, dropping a 23-20 decision to the Black Knights. Rutgers and Army split the 10 bouts with the Scarlet Knights surrendering six points with a forfeit at heavyweight. RU ends its dual season 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the EIWA, while Army moves to 12-5 overall and 4-2 in the EIWA.
