PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 23 Rutgers field hockey returns home to open Big Ten play this weekend. The Scarlet Knights will open play with Indiana at 3 p.m. on Friday, then host No. 19 Iowa at noon on Sunday.
It is also the team's Alumni Weekend, with a host of Rutgers former players expected back 'On the Banks'. Friday there will be a giveaway of season t-shirts, while Sunday is specially designated as 'Alumni Day'. Both games will be live streamed by BTN Plus.
The Scarlet Knights enter the weekend at 5-3, fresh off a 1-1 trip to upstate New York last weekend, with a win over previously unbeaten Cornell followed by a loss at No. 3 Syracuse.
Linde van Schaik had both goals in a 2-1 victory over the Big Red, increasing her season totals to five goals, and she has a team-best four assists. That gives her 14 points, which is second on the squad to fellow Netherlands native
Daphne Groothuis (15 points on six goals and three assists).

th career game at the helm of Rutgers last Sunday. She enters the weekend two wins shy of 50 in her career.
Indiana enters the weekend at 5-3. All three losses have come to top-10 teams in No. 3 Delaware, No. 9 Louisville and No. 9 Maryland, while they also boast a ranked win over Wake Forest. Maddie Latino leads the team offensively with six goals, while Ciara Girouard has five goals and an assist. In goal, Katie Johnson had a 3.23 goals-against-average and .627 save percentage. The team has been outscored 21-16 on the season. In the lifetime series, RU holds a 4-2-1 advantage, while Indiana has claimed the last two wins. The Scarlet Knights won 2-1 in the first meeting as Big Ten foes in 2013.
Iowa is 4-5 on the season, with losses to No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Penn State, No. 13 Stanford, No. 15 Wake Forest and New Hampshire. They are led offensively by Katie Birch, last season's Big Ten Freshman of the Year, who has nine goals and 20 points. In net, Katie Jones has played every second, with a 2.01 goals-against-average and .673 save percentage. The Hawkeyes hold a 6-1-1 lead in the all-time series, with RU's lone win coming last season. That 2-1 win over then-No. 15 Iowa was the highest ranked victory in program history.
