  • PISCATAWAY, NJ  - Rutgers junior midfielder Katie Batiuk (Jackson, NJ) was named to the BIG EAST women’s lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Batiuk scored her 100th career goal against Old Dominion on March 31st and her seven points against Temple gave her 144 career points, moving her into ninth place on Rutgers’ all-time scoring list.

The junior currently leads the Scarlet Knights with 38 points on 25 goals and 13 assists. While her offense has been impressive, her all-around game has been on display, evident by her 24 draw-controls, 20 ground-balls and 17 caused-turnovers. She leads the team in caused-turnovers and draw-controls and ranks second in ground-balls.

Batiuk was named to her first honor roll the week of Feb. 27 when she registered three goals, three draw-controls and three ground-balls against Northwestern, the nation’s top team. She was also named to the honor roll for the week of March 20 after she led the Scarlet Knights to victories over Manhattan and Saint Joseph’s behind six goals, four assists, nine ground-balls, six draw-controls and seven caused turnovers.

The Scarlet Knights (5-5, 0-2 BIG EAST) return to action Saturday, April 8 when they travel to Storrs, CT to take on BIG EAST rival Connecticut (2-5, 0-1 BIG EAST) in a 1:00 p.m. affair.
