Scarlet Knights Travel To Five Tournaments

  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers women’s lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the upcoming fall season. The Scarlet Knights will compete in a total of four tournaments during the fall, beginning this weekend at Penn State.

    Rutgers will face Duquesne and host Penn State in State College, PA, this Sunday, Sept. 26. The Scarlet Knights will play Duquesne at 1:30 p.m. before taking on Penn State at 3 p.m.

    RU travels to Hempstead, NY, to participate in the Hofstra Tournament the following weekend. RU will have a busy Oct. 2, taking on four schools, including Hofstra (8:30 a.m.), Brown (11:05 a.m.), Drexel (12:55 p.m.) and Massachusetts (2:45 p.m.).

    The Scarlet Knights will also participate in tournaments at Princeton (Oct. 17) and George Mason (Oct. 23).

    Rutgers defeated Japan’s Gakushuin University this past week, 18-5, in an exhibition contest held at the Rutgers University campus.

    Rutgers ended the 2004 spring season 7-8 overall, finishing 3-3 in the BIG EAST Conference to place fourth in the league for the second-consecutive year. The Scarlet Knights played strong against several nationally-ranked teams, highlighted by a 7-6 victory over second-ranked Notre Dame.
