  • Piscataway, N.J. (March 18, 2013) – Winners of five-straight, the Rutgers women’s lacrosse team (6-1) hosts RV Princeton on Tuesday, March 19 after a five-day hiatus. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at the RU Turf Field at the Stadium Complex and will be streamed live on RVision, presented by AT&T, weather permitting.

Rutgers is coming off a 13-6 win over Hofstra last week, as junior attack Megan Clements (Pennington, N.J.) posted a career-high six points off five goals and an assist. The RU defense has not allowed more than eight goals this season, ranking second in the nation with a 5.5 GAA.

Junior midfielder Katrina Martinelli (Moorestown, N.J.) currently paces the Scarlet Knights in total points, goals and assists on the season. She has tallied 24 points on 18 goals and six assists through six games. Martinelli has also scored multiple goals in all but one of her games this season.

In a series that dates back to 1977, the Scarlet Knights hold a 3-11-1 all-time record against the Tigers, but have won two of the last three matchups. Last season, Rutgers upset then-No. 7 Princeton as three Scarlet Knights totaled hat tricks.

Princeton (3-2) saw its second-half comeback fall short vs. No. 9 Virginia on Saturday, falling 9-7 at Klockner Stadium. Sophomore attack Erin McMunn paces the Tigers with 12 goals and five assists for 17 points. Time between the pipes will be split between Annie Woehling (9.64 GAA with 15 saves) and Caroline Franke (10.08 GAA with 16 saves).

Head Coach Chris Sailer, in her 27th season at the helm of Princeton lacrosse, has guided the Tigers to three NCAA championships, 11 national semifinal appearances, 19 NCAA tournament appearances and nine Ivy League titles.
