PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 9, 2012) – Rutgers women’s lacrosse sophomore midfielder Lauren Sbrilli (Martinsville, N.J.) has been selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
Sbrilli paced the Scarlet Knights this past week with seven points on six goals and one assist, adding one draw control and one caused turnover. The midfielder went one-for-three on free position opportunities, helping RU to a 1-1 week in BIG EAST play.
For the season, Sbrilli ranks second on the team with 24 goals. The sophomore has registered three hat tricks, including one in the 13-5 win over Villanova on Thursday.
This is the second league accolade for Sbrilli, who was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 5 after scoring the game winner at No. 7 Princeton.
Sbrilli and the rest of the Scarlet Knights return to Piscataway for the final home weekend of the season against Louisville and Cincinnati. RU and UofL meet Friday, April 13 at 5 p.m. on Yurcak Field.
