Stephanie Anderson Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Midfielder earns second-straight league accolade

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 2, 2012) – For the second-straight week, Rutgers women’s lacrosse junior midfielder Stephanie Anderson (Wading River, N.Y.) has been selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.

    Anderson bested her career high for the third time over the last four games with five goals in the win over Connecticut. The midfielder totaled eight goals in a 1-1 week for RU, taking over the team lead in scoring.

    Over the last four contests, Anderson is averaging 4.0 goals per game. The junior has been incredibly efficient this season, scoring 24 times on 44 shots, including eight goals on 12 shots over the last two games.

    On the season, Anderson has started all 10 games, totaling 24 goals and three assists. She has grabbed 15 ground balls, controlled three draws, and caused five turnovers.

    Anderson and the rest of the Scarlet Knights hit the road for a two-game stretch against Villanova and No. 2 Syracuse. The game against the Wildcats has been rescheduled to a 4 p.m. start time.
