NEWARK, DE - Behind a hat-trick by sophomore attacker Kate Shomo (Medford Lakes, NJ) and a four-point performance by freshman midfielder Kathryn Lawrence (Pylesville, MD), the Rutgers women’s lacrosse team defeated Delaware, 9-8, for its second-straight win on Saturday afternoon.

HEMPSTEAD, NY – Rutgers junior midfielder Katie Batiuk (Jackson, NJ) scored three goals and sophomore Kate Shomo (Medford Lakes, NJ) netted two more as the women’s lacrosse team defeated No. 16 Hofstra, 9-7, at James M. Shuart Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Behind four goals apiece by All-American Kristen Kjellman and Sarah Albrecht, the No. 1 Northwestern Wildcats defeated the Rutgers University women’s lacrosse team, 18-3, on Sunday in front of 400 fans at the RU Stadium Complex.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Junior midfielder Anne Marchitello (Medford Lakes, NJ) and junior midfielder Katie Batiuk (Jackson, NJ) were named to the 2006 Preseason All-BIG EAST women's lacrosse team in a vote by the league's head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players in the individual or team polls, and Rutgers received eight votes to finish fifth.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers University women's lacrosse program has received six national letters of intent from top players from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Scarlet Knight head coach Laura Brand announced Thursday. Highlighting the group are three starters from the six-time defending state champion Moorestown High School Quakers and two captains of the Shawnee High School Renegades.
