  • CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Rutgers freshman Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) has been named to the ECAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Tuesday. After finishing with two goals, two assists, and 10 ground balls in his first two collegiate starts (vs. Dowling, at Delaware), Pennington scored another two goals against ECAC opponent, Fairfield, on March 10, to earn a spot on this week's list.

Pennington took eight shots in Rutgers' 14-10 loss to the Stags, including five on goal. He went 1-for-3 in the face-off circle and had five ground balls against Fairfield. For the season, Pennington is tied for third on the team with four goals. He also has two assists and a team-high 11 groundballs. In addition, his 6.67 shots per game average is the fifth-best mark in the conference.

This week's honor is the second in as many weeks for the freshman. Pennington was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 4 after making his first two collegiate starts against Dowling and then-No. 14 Delaware. He finished with a combined two goals and two assists on 12 shots against the two teams.

The Scarlet Knights (1-2, 0-1) will welcome No. 9/10 Princeton to Yurcak Field on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m. Following Tuesday's game, the team will close out its brief, two-game homestand when it hosts No. 9/13 Army on Friday, March 16. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Yurcak Field.
