Georgetown held a 5-1 lead through the first quarter, with RU’s goal coming from Klimchak on one of two assists in the contest from freshman A Scott Bieda (Bridgewater, N.J.). The Hoyas scored the first three goals of the second period before junior D Andrew Parilla (Wyckoff, N.J.) scored a man-down goal, the second goal of his career. Georgetown scored the final two goals of the stanza to take a 10-2 lead into the break.

The Scarlet Knights notched the first two scores of the second half, as redshirt junior Matt Klimchak (Clark, N.J.) found the back of the net on a pass from his brother Scott. Scott Klimchak followed that up with a goal at the 12:23 mark in the third quarter before the Hoyas scored four-straight goals to end the period to take a 14-4 advantage.

Georgetown recorded a goal with 5:54 remaining in the contest, before Rutgers notched the final three goals of the game, including two from freshman A Ryan Hollingsworth (Martinsville, N.J.).
