PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 1, 2013) – Rutgers men’s lacrosse freshman GK Kris Alleyne (New City, N.Y.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll accolades for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.
Alleyne was a force in net for the Scarlet Knights, tallying a career-high 25 saves in the overtime game against Providence (March 30). The freshman gave up just 10 goals against 35 shots on goal from the Friars. Only 10 goalkeepers in Rutgers history have recorded more saves in a game. Alleyne also totaled a career-best five ground balls.
The freshman was also named to the Weekly Honor Roll on March 25 after recording 14 saves against No. 3 Notre Dame (March 24).
Alleyne, junior A Scott Klimchak (Clark, N.J.) junior A Nick DePaolera (Kinnelon, N.J.) and sophomore FO Joseph Nardella (Cazenovia, N.Y.) are the four Rutgers players to be named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season.
Rutgers next takes travels to Villanova to take on the Wildcats on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m.
