    Facing Off

    After a win against Manhattan to open the season on Feb. 9, the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team continues play at home, taking on Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. The game will take place on the RU Turf Field at the Stadium Complex. The matchup will be broadcast live on RVision, presented by AT&T, on ScarletKnights.com.


    Scouting the Air Force Falcons

    Air Force brings a 1-1 record into the contest and is coming off a 14-4 win against High Point on Feb. 10. The Falcons’ lone loss came to No. 4 North Carolina, 16-8, on Feb. 8.

    The Scarlet Knights are 7-1 all-time against Air Force and recorded an 11-10 victory against the Falcons on Feb. 19 last season. The series dates back to 1969.

    Individually, the Falcons are led by junior Tommy McKee, who has scored a team-high seven goals in two games. Classmate Mike Crampton follows close behind with six goals and one assist to tie him for the team-lead with seven points. Defensively, freshman Alex Warden has caused six of the squad’s 17 total turnovers this season.


    Scarlet Knights Win Opener Over Manhattan

    In its season opener, the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team defeated Manhattan, 15-6, on the RU Turf Field at the Stadium Complex on Feb. 10. The Scarlet Knights were led by a career-high five goals from junior A Nick DePaolera (Kinnelon, N.J.) as well as multi-goal games from classmate M Steve DiGiovanni (Cranford, N.J.) and freshman A Nick Kilkowski (Summit, N.J.).

    The 15 goals were the most by a Rutgers team since the season opener on Feb. 12, 2011 when that squad tallied 17 against Wagner.


    Individual Milestones

    In its season opener, DePaolera recorded a career-high five goals, junior Steve DiGiovanni (Cranford, N.J.) scored a career-best two goals, senior Ed Bartleson (Morristown, N.J.) earned his first career start, junior Anthony Terranova (Flemington, N.J.) tied a career-best with two assists and sophomore Joseph Nardella (Cazenovia, N.Y.) won a career-best 21 faceoffs. Five Scarlet Knights scored their first career goals.
