PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior goalie Greg Havalchak (Corning, NY) has been named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week for his 21-save effort against No. 11 Massachusetts last Saturday, the league office announced today.

May-06-06 Rutgers Drops Season Finale at No. 11 UMass, 10-5
AMHERST, MA – Sean Morris netted his 13th career hat trick with three goals and one assist as 11th-ranked Massachusetts (10-4, 5-2) erupted for five goals in the first quarter and posted a 10-5 win over Rutgers (5-9, 2-5) at Garber Field on Saturday. The loss spoiled a sensational performance from senior goalie Greg Havalchak (Corning, NY), who had 21 saves in his final collegiate game.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Freshman attackman Mike Dugan (Summit, NJ) and redshirt freshman midfielder Jeff Rommel (Syracuse, NY) have been honored for their performances in Rutgers’ contest against Georgetown last Saturday, the ECAC announced on Monday. Dugan is the Rookie of the Week, while Rommel earned a spot on the weekly Honor Roll.

April-29-06 No. 5 Georgetown Edges Rutgers In Men’s Lacrosse Action, 9-8
PISCATAWAY, N.J - The fifth-ranked Georgetown Hoyas (10-2, 5-1 ECAC) snuffed out a last-second scoring chance by Rutgers (5-8, 2-4 ECAC) to preserve a 9-8 victory over the Scarlet Knights on Saturday at a sun-drenched Yurcak Field. It was Rutgers’ fourth one-goal loss of the season.

April-25-06 Rutgers Falls to No. 7 Princeton, 11-5
PRINCETON, N.J - A five-goal second period triggered Princeton’s offense as the Tigers defeated Rutgers, 11-5, on Tuesday night in men’s lacrosse action at Class of 1952 Stadium. With the win, Princeton takes back possession of the Harland (Tots) Meistrell Cup, which had spent the past 365 days in Piscataway.

April-22-06 No. 13 Penn State Edges Rutgers in Men’s Lacrosse Action, 8-7
STATE COLLEGE, PA - For the second time in as many weeks, the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team (5-6, 2-3 ECAC) successfully fought back from a fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime. But just like last week, RU fell short in the extra session, dropping a 8-7 heartbreaker to No. 13 Penn State (7-4, 5-1 ECAC) on Saturday at Jeffrey Field.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Tad Stanwick (Baltimore, MD), a freshmen attackmen on the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team, has been named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for his performance last Saturday against No. 12 Syracuse, the league office announced today.

April-15-06 Comeback Falls Short as Rutgers Loses OT Heartbreaker to No. 12 Syracuse
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Syracuse’s Mike Leveille scored unassisted with seven seconds left in overtime to give the 12th-ranked Orange (5-4) a 13-12 victory over Rutgers (5-5) on Saturday in front of 2,539 at Yurcak Field. Leveille’s goal spoiled a remarkable fourth-quarter come back by RU, as the Scarlet Knights scored the final four goals to force an extra session.
