March-24-07 Scarlet Knights Outlast Hobart in Double-Overtime
GENEVA, N.Y. – Senior Colin Checcio (Wayne, Pa.) scored five goals, including the game-winner, to help lead the Rutgers men's lacrosse team (2-3, 1-1) to a 12-11 double-overtime win over with ECAC opponent Hobart (3-4, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Harland (Tots) Meistrell Cup, awarded to the winner of the annual Rutgers-Princeton men's lacrosse game, will stay with the No. 9/10 Tigers as they defeated the Scarlet Knights, 15-8, on Tuesday night at Yurcak Field.

March-13-07 Pennington Named to ECAC Honor Roll
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Rutgers freshman Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) has been named to the ECAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Tuesday. After finishing with two goals, two assists, and 10 ground balls in his first two collegiate starts (vs. Dowling, at Delaware), Pennington scored another two goals against ECAC opponent, Fairfield, on March 10, to earn a spot on this week's list.

March-10-07 Rutgers Drops ECAC Opener to Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Mass. – Despite three goals by Colin Checcio, the Rutgers men's lacrosse team (1-2, 0-1) dropped a 14-10 decision to ECAC opponent Fairfield (3-0, 1-0). The Scarlet Knights out-shot the Stags, 38-36, and were able to get within two goals of the lead, but could not pull out the win in what was the conference-opener for both teams.

March-07-07 Pennington Named ECAC Rookie of the Week
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Rutgers freshman Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) has been named the ECAC Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Pennington made his first collegiate starts against Dowling and then-No. 14 Delaware, finishing with two goals and two assists on 12 shots.

March-03-07 RU Men's Lax Edged at No, 14 Delaware
NEWARK, Del. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (1-1) lost a close battle with fourteenth-ranked Delaware (4-0), falling by a score of 7-5 on Saturday afternoon in Newark, Del. Colin Checcio (Wayne, Pa.) led the Scarlet Knights in scoring with three goals but it was not enough to surpass the Blue Hens, who improve to 4-0 on the season.

February-27-07 Rutgers Opens Season with 17-9 Win Over Dowling
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (1-0) opened its season with a 17-9 win over Dowling College (0-1) on Tuesday afternoon at the RU Turf Field. Five Scarlet Knight players recorded multiple goals, led by senior tri-captain Matt Gaines' (Abingdon, Md.) four scores.

February-13-07 Three Rutgers Men’s Lacrosse Games to be Shown on Local Television
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Three Rutgers men's lacrosse games will be broadcast on Patriot Media Cable Systems this spring. The Scarlet Knights' March 13 game against Princeton, April 3 match-up with Manhattan, and April 21 game against Penn State will all be shown on the local cable network.

November-21-06 Rutgers Men’s Lacrosse Announces Recruiting Class
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Seven student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to play for the Rutgers men’s lacrosse program, head coach Jim Stagnitta announced. The Scarlet Knights will welcome four New Jersey natives and three New Yorkers beginning in the fall of 2007.
