April-24-07 Olin, Pennington Earn Weekly ECAC Honors
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Freshman goalie Bill Olin (Horseheads, N.Y.) was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week and teammate Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) was named the conference's Rookie of the Week following the Scarlet Knights' (5-5, 3-2) 8-7 double-overtime win against conference rival Penn State on April 22.

April-22-07 Pennington Leads Scarlet Knights Past Penn State in Double-Overtime
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A goal in double-overtime by freshman Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) gave the Rutgers men's lacrosse team (5-5, 3-2) an 8-7 win over ECAC rival Penn State (4-7, 3-3) on Sunday afternoon in Piscataway. With the win, the Friendship Cup, established 11 seasons ago and awarded to the winner of the annual Rutgers-Penn State game, returns to 'the banks' for the first time since 2004 and for just the second time in team history.

April-20-07 Scarlet Knights Welcome Penn State for Conference Match-Up
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (4-5, 2-2) will host ECAC opponent Penn State (4-6, 3-2) on Sunday, April 22, at 12:00 p.m. A win against the Nittany Lions would even RU's overall record at 5-5 and give the team a winning mark in conference play at 3-2. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 22-9 loss at No. 17/18 Syracuse on April 15.

April-15-07 No. 20 Rutgers Drops 22-9 Decision to No. 17/18 Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 20 Rutgers men's lacrosse team (4-5, 2-2) was defeated by No. 17/18 Syracuse, 22-9, Sunday afternoon at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. The loss, RU's largest margin of defeat this season, snapped the team's two-game win streak.

April-10-07 No. 20 Rutgers Sweeps Weekly ECAC Awards
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Three Rutgers men's lacrosse players earned weekly ECAC honors, the league announced on Tuesday. Mike Dugan (Summit, N.J.) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, Chris O'Dougherty (Kinnelon, N.J.) earned co-Defensive Player of the Week honors and Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) was named the Rookie of the Week for the third time this spring.

April-09-07 Stagnitta Named US Lacrosse Coach of the Week
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse head coach Jim Stagnitta was named the US Lacrosse Coach of the Week, the organization announced on Monday afternoon. Stagnitta's team posted two victories this past week, including a 17-7 upset of eighth-ranked Loyola on April 7.

April-09-07 Rutgers Earns First National Ranking of the Season
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (4-4, 2-2) received its first national ranking of the season following two wins this past week. The Scarlet Knights were ranked No. 20 in the April 9 Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll after defeating Manhattan on April 3 and eighth-ranked Loyola on April 7. The Scarlet Knights also received votes in the April 9 STX/Geico USILA Coaches Poll.

April-07-07 Scarlet Knights Record First-Ever Win over Loyola, 17-7
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (4-4, 2-2) posted the program's first-ever victory against ECAC opponent and eighth-ranked Loyola (5-3, 3-1) with a 17-7 win on Saturday afternoon. Entering the game, Loyola had held a 7-0 edge in the all-time series against Rutgers. Eight different players scored for Rutgers as the 17 goals tied the team's highest scoring total in a single game this season.

April-03-07 Rutgers Defeats Manhattan 10-3
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (3-4, 1-2) held Manhattan (4-4) to just three goals en route to a 10-3 victory at Tuesday night at Yurcak Field. The three goals were the fewest allowed by the Scarlet Knights since Manhattan scored three on Feb. 26, 2003, in a 7-3 loss to Rutgers. With the win, RU also improves to 8-0 all-time against the Jaspers.

April-02-07 Rutgers Returns Home for Match Up with Manhattan
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse team (2-4, 1-2) will return home for two-straight games, beginning with Manhattan (4-2) on Tuesday, April 3. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Yurcak Field. The Scarlet Knights enter Tuesday's game coming off a 6-4 loss to ECAC rival St. John's on March 31. Manhattan has lost its last two games.
