July 14, 2008 Shemesh and Team USA Defeat Canada to Win U-19 Lacrosse Championship
COQUITLAM, B.C. – Rutgers men's lacrosse rising sophomore Brian Shemesh (Hillsborough, N.J.) and the United States Under-19 men's lacrosse team captured gold at the 2008 International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championships. Team USA defeated Canada 19-12 in the championship game before an estimated 3,400 fans at Percy Perry Stadium.

July 7, 2008 Four Scarlet Knight Signees Named to 2008 High School Boy’s Lacrosse All-America Team
BALTIMORE, Md. – Four Rutgers University men's lacrosse incoming freshman were named to the 2008 High School All-America team. Mike Diehl (Flemington, N.J.), Will Mangan (Maplewood, N.J.), Zach Zenda (South Brunswick, N.J.), and Tim Rommel (Syracuse, N.Y.) were a part of the field chosen by US Lacrosse.

July 2, 2008 Shemesh Set to Defend U.S. Gold at Men’s Under-19 ILF World Championships

July 1, 2008 Pennington Selected as Top 10 Midfielder in Nation
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – InsideLacrosse.com released its 2009 rankings of the top players in Division I men’s lacrosse and Rutgers rising junior Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) was selected as one of the Top 10 midfielders. An honorable mention All-American in 2008, Pennington was ranked No. 7 on the list.

June 18, 2008 Five Scarlet Knights Earn Spot on 2008 All-ECAC Academic Team
CAPE COD, Mass. – ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced that 35 student-athletes from the ECAC Lacrosse League have earned a spot on the prestigious 2008 All-ECAC Academic Team, including five Scarlet Knights. Midfielders Jeff Rommel, Taylor Bottar, and Erik Stilley were joined by defenseman Chris Gammello and goalkeeper Billy Olin as members of the squad.

June 16, 2008 Five Scarlet Knight Signees Named to New Jersey All-State Lacrosse Teams
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Five incoming freshman on the Rutgers men's lacrosse team have been selected to the Star Ledger's New Jersey All-State boy's lacrosse team. Additionally, Mike Diehl (Flemington, N.J.) was chosen as the Courier News boy's lacrosse Player of the Year.

June 11, 2008 BIG EAST Announces the Formation of Men’s Lacrosse League for 2010 Season
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference will formally begin sponsoring the sport of men's lacrosse beginning in the spring of 2010. The announcement about the Conference adding its 24th sport was made today by Commissioner Michael Tranghese following a unanimous vote by the league's 16 Directors of Athletics during their recent annual spring meeting.

June 4, 2008 Scarlet Knight Signee Rommel Named to Under Armour High School All-America Team
BALTIMORE, Md. – Rutgers incoming freshman Tim Rommel (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been selected to the 2008 Under Armour All-America Team, which recognizes 44 of the nation's best high school boys' and girls' senior lacrosse players. The North-South All-American games headline the 2008 Under Armour Lacrosse Classic at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday, July 12. The boys' contest will be televised live nationally on ESPNU at 8:00 p.m.

June 2, 2008 Kelly to Compete With U.S. Men’s U-19 Team
