PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior Stephanie Zick (Pittsburgh, PA), has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced today.
The Scarlet Knights (13-6, 1-5 EAGL) scored 191.200 points to take second place, missing the top spot by just one-tenth of a point in its regular-season home finale at the Livingston Recreation Center on March 5. Eastern Michigan finished in first place with 191.300 points, followed by the Scarlet Knights, Cornell (187.775) and Ursinus (184.650).
Zick helped Rutgers secure its second-place finish by winning the individual title on the uneven bars with a season-high score of 9.800. She is currently fourth on the team, averaging a 9.443 on the bars, and ranks third in the floor exercise with a 9.575 average.
Prior to the meet, Zick was also one of nine seniors to be honored for her contributions to the program on senior day.
The Scarlet Knights return to action on Saturday, March 12, when they travel to Towson, MD, to face host Towson as well as EAGL foes Maryland and Pittsburgh. The start time of the quad meet is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
