Freshman Jeannine Mondesando (Mawah, NJ) shined for the Scarlet Knights, tying for third place overall in individual competition, just two strokes off the lead, with a 54-hole score of 232 (75-77-80). Her best effort came in the first round Saturday, when she shot a three-over-par 75. Mondesando recorded 35 pars for three rounds, the second most in the tournament. Cincinnati’s Allison Couch won the event with a combined score of 230 (77-75-78) for the tournament.
Senior Kathleen Freer (Vorhees, NJ) shot a three-round score of 244 (83-82-79) to tie for 28th place overall. Sophomore Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) registered a 54-hole score of 250 (86-85-79) to place 52nd. Sophomore Caitlin Flynn (Fairfield, CT) placed 86th, carding a three round score of 270 (92-94-84). Finishing two strokes back, junior Amanda Lennox (Narragansett, RI) shot 272 (84-104-84) for the tournament to finish 90th.
Sophomore Kathleen Kennedy (Annandale, NJ) carded an 84 for the first round, but was forced to withdraw in the second round. She came back Sunday to shoot an 86 in the final round.
The women will return to action on Sat.-Sun., Oct. 12-13, traveling to Lewisburg, PA to participate in the ECAC Invitational.
