WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - The Rutgers women's golf team finished 9th with a 651 (328-323) total at the 2007 ECAC Women's Division I Golf Championship, played October 6-7 at Kiskiask Golf Club. Junior Lauren Huhnerkoch (Burnsville, Minn.) paced the Scarlet Knights for the second straight event, carding a 15-over par 159 (81-78) to finish tied for 25th on the par 72, 6,075-yard course.

Freshman Terry Grandis (East Patchogue, N.Y.) also played well for the Scarlet, shooting a 162 (81-81) to place tied for 32nd in the 74-player field. Jeanne Waters (Sayville, N.Y.) finished 43rd with a 165 (83-82) and Daley Owens (Taylorsville, Utah) placed tied for 45th with a 167 (85-82), as three of the team's top four performers were true freshmen. Senior Jen Rudy (Berlin, Conn.) rounded-out the scorecard with a 170.

Harvard won the Championship, with all five of its individuals posting 36-hole totals of 155 or lower.  Harvard's team total of 600 (+24) was good enough for a 19-stroke victory over second place Lehigh (619).  Boston College took third place out of the 15-team field with a 631 score.

Claire Sheldon of Harvard captured the medalist honors for the weekend, firing a two-day total of 145 (+3).  She also carded the low round of the championship with a 4-under par 68 in Round 1.  Teammates Sarah Harvey and Emily Balmert took second and third place, respectively, with scores of 151 and 152.
