HARRISONBURG, VA - The Rutgers women’s golf ended their spring season with a 999 (332-337-330) to finish 15th at the Bonnie Hoover Invitational on Sunday at the 6,046-yard, par-72 Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, VA. The two-day tournament, hosted by James Madison University, began with two rounds on Saturday, concluding with a final round on Sunday.
Princeton University won the championship with a 900 (306-300-294), while Princeton’s Avery Kiser shared the individual title with Augusta State’s Garrett Phillips. Both carded a one-over-par 217.
Senior Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) paced Rutgers with a 237 (81-79-77) to tie for 33rd. Sophomore Ashley Fowler (Scottsdale, AZ) tied for 62nd with a 246 (77-84-85). Sophomore Lauren Braswell (Basing Ridge, NJ) carded a 250 (85-82-83) to finish 68th. Senior Noel Picca (Irving, TX) finished 83 rd with a 266 (89-92-85), while sophomore Monica Coe (Mays Landing, NJ) fired a 282 (95-97-90) tie place 86th overall.
The event served as the final tournament for the women this spring, as the Scarlet Knights fell just short of qualifying for the BIG EAST Championships.
