LEWISBURG, PA – Rutgers women’s golf is in ninth place with a 650 (319-331) score after the opening two rounds of the Bucknell Invitational, played Saturday at the Bucknell Golf Course. Sophomore Gabrielle Sacheli (Pittsford, N.Y.) paced the Scarlet Knights on day one, carding a 157 (74-83) to enter Sunday’s final round tied for 14th in the 90-player field.
The event is the first of the fall season for Rutgers. The RU competing five is comprised of four sophomores and one true freshman.
Sophomore Jackie Mullens (Brookside, N.J.) also performed well and is among the top 30 competitors. She is tied for 28th with a 161 (78-83).
Freshman Taylor Clark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) and sophomores Samantha Moyal (Alameda, Calif.) and Racquel Zurick (West Trenton, N.J.) comprise the rest of the Rutgers scorecard. Clark is tied for 41st with a 165 (85-80), Moyal is tied for 44th with a 167 (82-85) and Zurick is tied for 64th with a 173 (85-88).
William & Mary leads the field with a 612 (310-302), three strokes ahead of second place Columbia. Seton Hall is in the show position with a 624.
The final round begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday morning.
