NEW HAVEN, CT - The Rutgers women’s golf team captured 11th place at the Yale Invitational on Sunday. The Scarlet Knights shot a 690 (347-343) in the tournament.
Princeton won the event with a 612 (308-304), while Yale’s Cindy Shin took the individual championship with an eight-over-par 148 (76-72).
Rutgers was led by junior Noel Picca (Irving, TX), who tied for 34th overall with a 169 (82-87) for the two-day event.
Junior Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) shot a 170 (84-86) for the event to tie for 36th. Sophomore Kathleen Kennedy (Annandale, NJ) carded a 174 (90-84) to finish tied for 46th for Rutgers. Freshman Lauren Braswell (Basking Ridge, NJ) tied for 56th place with a 180 (94-86) in the event. Senior Amanda Lennox (Narragansett, RI) was just one stroke behind Braswell, capturing 59th with a 181 (91-90).
Rutgers returns home to host the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 17-18 at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, NJ.
