Third-year junior … a 2013-14 Ping All-Northeast Region selection … west coast product with a great deal of physical talent and a positive attitude … has competed in 21 events, playing 58 rounds … advanced to match play and the round of 32 at the 2014 USGA Amateur Championship after carding a 144 (72-72) during stroke play to make the cut … a 2013-2014 American Athletic Conference All-Academic honoree … was the 2012 All-Santa Clarita Boys Golfer of the Year.

SHUTTE ON CHANG: ”After a strong Spring season followed by a great run in the US Am this summer, we are excited to see just how good Jonathan can be during the Back 9 of his college years.  He is developing so nicely as a person and not just a golfer.”

SPRING 2014: Competed in six of seven events and finished strong, pacing the team in each of their final four events … tied for 33rd at the American Athletic Conference Championship, leading RU with a 227 … shot a 2-under 211 (68-72-71) to finish third in the Rutherford Intercollegiate … carded a 5-under 66 in the second round of the Princeton Invitational, en route to a 13th-place 213 … paced RU at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate with a 222, tied for 27th individually.

FALL 2013: Competed in all five events, playing in 14 rounds … earned four top-20 finishes on the season … tied for 15th at the Rutgers Invitational, carding a 219 (73-70-76) … carded a 222 (76-71-75) to finish tied for 11th at the Hartford Hawk Invitational … paced the Scarlet Knights at the Badger Invitational, posting a 221 (74-75-72) to finish tied for 14th in the 74-player field … recorded a 221 (73-72-76) at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate … placed tied for 17th at the Lehigh Invitational, recording a 159 (81-78).

SPRING 2013: Competed in all five events, playing 13 rounds … tied for 10th with a 227 (76-75-76) at the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational … had an eagle at the Big East Championship.

FALL 2012: Competed in all five events, playing in 13 rounds … went 2-1 in the STX Match play, defeating his FDU, and Stevenson opponents … paced the Scarlet Knights at the Rutgers Invitational, carding a one-under 212 (73-68-71) to place third in the 83-competitor field and had tournament-best minus two in par three scoring, while also finishing minus one on par fours … placed tied for 27th out of 88 in the Hartford Hawks Invitational with a 228 (74-73-81) … placed tied for 22nd out of 28 at the Waterville Collegiate Classic with a 165 (92-73) … tied for 16th out of 45 at the Lehigh Invitational with a 151 (77-73).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of Valencia HS, where he was a three-time team captain and most valuable player under head coach Robert Waters … was the Foothill League Most Valuable player as a sophomore and senior, with a 69 and 68, respectively … as a senior, earned individual medalist honors in four of six Foothill League matches and had a 72.8 stroke average … in the post-season, shot a two-over 74 at TPC Valencia to finish with a 36-hole total of 148 to capture his third consecutive Newhall Land Cup title … a nationally-ranked AJGA competitor with numerous top finishes in both regional and national junior tournaments … played four events on the FCWT Junior Tour in 2011-12, making all four cuts and placing tied for ninth at the Classic Club 36 holes … at the AJGA ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior, he finished 17th with a 220 (74-73-73), his second top 20 finish in five AJGA events in the spring of 2012 … is the Rancho Vista course record holder with a 64.

PERSONAL: Son of Young and Tae Chang … interested in Psychology.
