Freshman Michael Kosup (Flemington, NJ) paced the Scarlet Knights, firing a 147 (76-71) for two rounds to place eighth. For Kosup, Monday’s round of one-under-par-71 is the first sub par round of his collegiate career. Kosup finished three strokes behind Central Connecticut State’s Petr Skopovy, who won the tournament with a score of 144 (73-71).
Junior Brent Pittman (Montvale, NJ) finished tied for ninth in the event, carding a score of 148 (74-74). Sophomore Brian Whitman (Blairstown, NJ) shot a 152 (77-75) for the event to tie for 21st overall. Sophomore Erick Morales (Bayamon Puerto Rico) finished in a tie for 30th place, with a two round score of 155 (78-77). Sophomore Jason Bataille (South Plainfield, NJ) fired a 160 (82-78) for the tournament to place in a tie for 39th.
The men will return to action in the spring when they compete in the William and Mary Invitational, March 24-25, 2003.
