PHOENIX, Md. (September 10, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s golf team suffered a 3-2 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in STX Match Play at the Towson Golf & Country Club on Monday. Sophomore Jacob Stockl (Clark, N.J.) won his match 5 & 4 and freshman Jonathan Chang (Valencia, Calif.) captured a 4 & 3 victory.
Juniors Doug Walters (Blairstown, N.J.).and Dillon Corbo (Montville, N.J.) finished their respective matches all square for the Scarlet Knights.
Senior John Fagan (Flemington, N.J.), sophomore Hyung Mo Kim (Norwood, N.J.) and junior Jonathan Renza (Cortland Manor, N.Y.) comprised the rest of the team scorecard.
Rutgers, under the leadership of second-year head coach Rob Shutte, placed sixth at the event with a 1-2 record. The Scarlet Knights return to the links next weekend (Sept. 14-15) when they host the annual Rutgers Invitational.
