Rutgers Defeats Stevenson 7-0 in Match Play

PHOENIX, Md. (September 9, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s golf team shut out Stevenson University 7-0 in STX Match Play at the Towson Golf & Country Club on Sunday. Junior Dillon Corbo (Montville, N.J.) played in first position for the Scarlet Knights and won his match 4 & 3.

Senior John Fagan (Flemington, N.J.) played in second position and also won 4 &3, as did freshman Jonathan Chang (Valencia, Calif.) and junior Doug Walters (Blairstown, N.J.).

Sophomore Jacob Stockl (Clark, N.J.) won 6 & 5 at the No. 5 spot, while sophomore Hyung Mo Kim (Norwood, N.J.) and junior Jonathan Renza (Cortland Manor, N.Y.) both won 3 & 2 at the sixth and seventh position, respectively.

Rutgers, under the leadership of second-year head coach Rob Shutte, will face Fairleigh Dickinson University in match play on Monday.
