PRINCETON, N.J. (April 14, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s golf team is in ninth place with a 603 (302-301) total after the first two rounds of the 13-team Princeton Invitational, played Saturday at Springdale Golf Club. Sophomore Jonathan Renza (Cortland Manor, N.Y.) paced the Scarlet Knights at the 14-team event, carding a 145 (71-74) to enter Sunday’s final round tied for 15th in the 75-player field.
Renza had 25 pars and was plus one in par three scoring on day one.
Junior Jonathan Fagan (Flemington, N.J.), freshmen Hyung Mo Kim (Norwood, N.J.) and Jacob Stockl (Clark, N.J.), and sophomore Dillon Corbo (Montville, N.J.) comprise the rest of the team scorecard. Fagan (74-78) and Kim (77-75) are tied for 43rd at 152, Stockl is tied for 54th with a 155 (80-75) and Corbo is tied for 68th with a 159 (82-77).
Georgetown (286-289) and Yale (286-289) are tied for first with 575 totals, one stroke ahead of third place Columbia. Harvard’s Tony Grillo is the individual leader with a four under par 138 (67-71).
The third and final round of the 26th annual event hosted by the Tigers tees-off Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Also included in the field on the par 71, 6,390-yard course are Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, Rider, Saint Joseph's and Temple.
