Rutgers 13th at Quaker Invitational

PINE HILL, N.J. - Rutgers men's golf finished 13th out of 15 teams with a 665 (342-323) team score at the Quaker Invitational, played Monday at Trump National Golf Course.

Tournament host Penn was up by seven strokes after Monday's morning round, but IUPUI shot the low rounds of the tournament in the afternoon, a 298, to overtake the Quakers and win by a stroke. IUPUI's final score was 613, followed by Penn at 614. Princeton was third at 634.

Individually, Penn freshman Austin Powell took medalist honors. He shot 76-71=147 to defeat IUPUI's Michael Powell by four strokes.

The course, a Tom Fazio design, plays at par 71 with a distance of 7,370 yards from the championship tees.

Rutgers, under the leadership of first-year head coach Rob Shutte, returns to the links at the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State, played this weekend (April 7-8) in University Park, Pa.
