Louis Bodine

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 17, 2011) - Rutgers Director of Golf Maura Ballard announced today that Louis Bodine (Flemington, N.J.), the 2011 New Jersey PGA Junior champion, has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Scarlet Knights. Bodine, who carries a USGA handicap index of + 0.3, carded rounds of 73-70-73 to win the title.

One of the Garden State’s elite juniors, Bodine placed third at the 2011 NJ PGA Challenge, shooting rounds of 72-71.

"Louis is a strong player with a lot of competitive experience among his peers and adults,” said Ballard. “He will make an immediate impact on our level of play."

A team captain and four-year varsity letterwinner at Hunterdon Central under head coach Larry Ries, the team won the 2010 New Jersey Tournament of Champions with Bodine serving as team captain. A two-time First Team All-Skyland Conference selection, Bodine has earned Courier News First Team All-Area, as well as Newark Star-Ledger All-State and All-Group IV honors.

Bodine won the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament with a four-under-par 68 this past spring. He also finished second in the Westfield Blue Devil Invitational at Echo Lake and shot 74 to place fourth in the Hunterdon County Tournament at Copper Hill.

Bodine is the current men’s club champion at his home course, Copper Hill Country Club. He has a scoring differential on junior golf scoreboard of 2.31.
