PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers football team conducted a spirited practice under bright, sunny skies at the Stadium Complex fields this afternoon. The Scarlet Knights were in full pads as they continue preparation for the 2003 season opener on August 30 when they host Buffalo at Rutgers Stadium.
The team scrimmaged for a good portion of the practice. With a mock game clock displayed digitally on a mobile scoreboard at the corner of the field, the team practiced its two minute drills towards the end of practice
The Scarlet Knights will have two practice sessions tomorrow (8:20 a.m. at the practice fields adjacent to the Louis Brown Athletic Center, and 3:20 p.m. at the Stadium Complex fields), before a scrimmage on Saturday (3:00 p.m. at Rutgers Stadium). Friday’s and Saturday’s sessions are the final “open” practices during training camp.
“We have to continue to focus and get better in the next three practices,” Rutgers
coach Greg Schiano said following today’s session. “I think in
every practice we’ve done that.”
