  • PISCATAWAY, NJ - Former Rutgers football standout Brandon Haw, who will be in action this Saturday when his Frankfurt Galaxy team takes on the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe’s championship game, World Bowl XIV, has been named to the 2006 All-League team.

Haw, who played at Rutgers from 1999-2003, was an integral member of the Frankfurt Galaxy’s top-rated defense this season. Allocated to NFL Europe by the Seattle Seahawks, Haw led the league with five interceptions and had 25 tackles. He also had seven passes defended and one forced fumble.

A native of Cheverly, MD, Haw was a three-year starter at cornerback for the Scarlet Knights, and concluded his career with six interceptions and 139 tackles. He was the team’s ninth leading tackler as a senior, with 37 stops, including three tackles for loss, and also added one interception. As a junior, Haw led the Scarlet Knights and was tied for second in the BIG EAST with four interceptions. He also scored two touchdowns as a senior and returned an interception 61yards for a score at Michigan State. Haw also scooped up a blocked field goal and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown against Navy. He was named BIG EAST Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against the Midshipmen.

Haw originally signed a free agent contact with Philadelphia in April, 2004 and has since inked contracts with the San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle placed an NFL-high five players on the All-League team, while Green Bay, Houston and Minnesota each had two. In addition to Haw, the other All-NFL Europe League team selections that will play in World Bowl XIV are Frankfurt running back Roger Robinson (Arizona), Amsterdam wide receivers Skyler Fulton (Seattle) and Chad Lucas (Green Bay), and Frankfurt defensive standout Jerome Nichols (Green Bay).
