  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – Domenic Natale, rated as one of the nation’s top high school quarterbacks during his scholastic career at The Hun School in Princeton, will transfer to Rutgers University from Michigan State.

“We’re pleased that Domenic will come home to New Jersey and join our football program at Rutgers,” said head coach Greg Schiano. “He enjoyed an outstanding career at the Hun School, and already has had two spring practices and one season in college ball under his belt, and will benefit from having a year to familiarize himself with our system. We’re excited to have him.”

The 6-2, 185-pound Natale was listed nationally among the Top 15 pro-style/drop-back quarterbacks by Rivals.com (No. 9), Max Emfinger (No. 12) and CollegeFootballNews.com (No. 15) following his senior campaign in 2004. He was a PrepFootball Report All-America selection, and was named All-East by Prep Star and All-Northeast by SuperPrep.

In two seasons as the starting quarterback at the Hun School, Natale led the Raiders to a 15-3 record, and threw for 2,689 yards and 34 touchdowns. He earned All-State and All-Area honors after completing 96-of-175 passes for 1,840 yards and 19 TDs as a junior, including a school record 511 yards and six touchdowns against Caldwell. As a senior, he guided the Hun School to a sterling 8-1 record, passing for 849 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Natale, who will sit out the 2006 season under NCAA guidelines, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2007. He originally enrolled for the spring semester at Michigan State in January, 2005, and was a red-shirt last season.
