PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers University football team’s game at the University of South Florida will be moved to Friday, Sept. 29 and will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Kickoff for the game is 8 p.m. It is the third nationally televised contest announced thus far for the Scarlet Knights in 2006.
In addition, the Scarlet Knights’ 2006 football schedule has been finalized with the addition of a Rutgers Stadium game against Howard University on Sept. 23. Complete schedule information with game times and the latest television information will be released at a later date.
The Scarlet Knights, who finished last season with a 7-5 mark and a berth in the Insight Bowl, will open Spring Practice 2006 on March 25. Spring Practice 2006 will culminate with the annual Scarlet-White Game on April 22, at 2 p.m. at Rutgers Stadium.
A day full of fun and activities is planned around the Scarlet-White Game, including FanFest, beginning at 12:30 p.m., and the Rutgers Football Touchdown Club’s Auction beginning at 5 p.m. Everyone who attends the Scarlet White Game will receive a FREE Rutgers football tee-shirt (while supplies last), and after the game, fans can pick up a 2006 Rutgers Football poster, and meet and get autographs from the Scarlet Knights’ coaches and players.
Tickets for the Scarlet-White Game are $5, with all proceeds going to the pediatric units of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Peter’s University Hospital (children under 12 and current Rutgers students will be admitted free of charge). Tickets may be purchased the day of the game at the Rutgers Ticket Office at Rutgers Stadium.
