PISCATAWAY, NJ – Former Rutgers cornerback Brandon Haw has been signed as a free-agent by the New York Jets, the NFL team announced today.
Haw was a three-year starter at cornerback for the Scarlet Knights, and concluded his career with six interceptions and 139 tackles. He was the team’s ninth leading tackler as a senior in 2003, with 37 stops, including three tackles for loss, and also added one interception. As a junior, Haw led the Scarlet Knights and was tied for second in the BIG EAST with four interceptions.
Haw also scored two touchdowns as a senior. He returned an interception 61-yards for a score at Michigan State, and scooped up a blocked field goal and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown against Navy. He was named the BIG EAST Conference’s Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the Navy game.
Haw has also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers and Cleveland Browns.
