PISCATAWAY, NJ – Seven members of Rutgers' 2005 recruiting class will participate in the eighth annual Governor's Bowl 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rutgers Stadium. The annual game features graduating all-stars from New York against graduating prep players from New Jersey.
New Rochelle High School teammates Glen Lee and Ray Rice will compete on the New York squad, matched up against five future Scarlet Knights on the New Jersey side. Shawnee High School lineman Ryan Blaszczyk, Mahwah lineman Kevin Haslam and Manchester linebacker Kevin Malast will be joined by Jason and Devin McCourty of St. Joseph's in Montvale. The New Jersey team will be coached by Steve Antonucci, who won a state championship in 2004, his seventh season at Middletown South High School.
The game will be televised on tape-delay by MSG, with the first showing set for Tuesday, June 14, at 7:00 p.m. A live audio broadcast is available through www.nj.com.
