PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 4, 2014) – An open football practice, an equipment surplus sale, the unveiling of the redesigned Scarlet Knight mascot and an afternoon autograph session with the players will be among the highlights of Rutgers’ annual Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 9.
Gates open at the F3 practice field at noon, with football practice beginning at 12:45 p.m. and running through to 2:45 p.m. Fans will be able to watch the two-hour session from the bleachers.
Sodexo concessions and merchandise will be available during practice.
The equipment surplus sale, featuring overstocked team-issued Rutgers merchandise along with game worn apparel, footwear, pads and more begins at 2 p.m. on the North Plaza. Cash or credit cards are required for all purchases.
The activities then shift to High Point Solutions Stadium at 3:50 p.m., with fans entering through the North Gate for a one-hour autograph session with the players on the field that begins at 4 p.m. The mascot introduction will take place at 4:30 p.m.
Fans will be able to pick up free football posters for autographs on the North Plaza.
Merchandise, including new season t-shirts will also be available. Sodexo beverages will be available on the field.
The full schedule for Fan Appreciation Day:
Noon: Gates open at F3 for open football practice (Sodexo concessions and merchandise available);
12:45 p.m.: Rutgers football practice (all fans in bleachers);
2:00 p.m.: Equipment surplus sale begins on North Plaza (cash and credit accepted);
2:45 p.m.: Open practice concludes;
3:50 p.m.: North Gate opens for fans for mascot introduction and player autographs;
4:00 p.m.: Football autograph session begins (Sodexo beverages available on the field);
4:30 p.m.: Mascot introduction;
5:00 p.m.: Football autograph session concludes;
6:00 p.m.: Football surplus sale concludes.
