PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 14, 2014) – Rutgers senior offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson (Jacksonville, Fla.) was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award watch list, the organization announced today. It is the second major award watch list Johnson has been named to along with the Outland Trophy watch list.

Johnson started all 13 games at left guard last season for the Scarlet Knights and has started the last 37 games since freshman season. He decided to forego the NFL Draft and return for senior season in January.

Johnson earned FWAA Freshman All-America honors as a true freshman in 2011.

Johnson is one of five returning starters on Rutgers’ offensive line in 2014. He is the third Scarlet Knight to be named to a preseason watch list, joining Betim Bujari (Rimington) and Tyler Kroft (John Mackey).

Rutgers opens the season Thursday, August 28 in Seattle against Washington State on Fox Sports One (10 p.m.). Season tickets are still available by calling 1-866-445-GORU or visit ScarletKnights.com
