Rutgers’ 2015 Big Ten Schedule Announced
Big Ten Home Games in 2015 Include Ohio State and Nebraska

  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 3, 2013) – The Big Ten office announced the conference schedule for the 2015 football season today, as approved by the Big Ten Directors of Athletics.                                                  

    The Scarlet Knights have atotal of seven home games in 2015, including non-conference matchups against Norfolk State, Kansas and a soon to be announced opponent from one of the five power conferences. Rutgers also has a non-conference road contest at YankeeStadium vs. Army in 2015 (November 21).

    Big Ten play for Rutgers in 2015 begins on the road at Penn State on Saturday, September 19. For the second consecutive year, the Scarlet Knights and Nittany Lions play the first league game of the season. It is the only Big Ten game the weekend of September 19.

    The home portion of the 2015 Big Ten schedule starts Saturday, October 10 at High Point Solutions Stadium against Michigan State. It marks the first visit to Piscataway for the Spartans since a 19-14 RU victory to open the 2004 campaign.

    The October slate of gamesconcludes with a trip to Bloomington, Ind., to face Indiana (October 17) before a home game in Piscataway against Ohio State (October 24) and a trip to Wisconsin (October 31).

    The November conference schedule for the Scarlet Knights has a visit to Ann Arbor for the first time against Michigan (November 7) and home games at High Point Solutions Stadium versus Nebraska (November 14) and Maryland (November 28).

    Beginning in 2014, the Big Ten football division alignments will feature Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in the East Division andIllinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin in the West Division. Each school will play the other six schools in its division plus two teams from the other division in 2014 and 2015, which will serve as transitional years in which the schools will still be playing eight-game schedules. Beginning in 2016, each school will play three teams from the other division as part of its nine-game schedule. The cross-division games will include one protected matchup on an annual basis between Indiana and Purdue.
