    PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 26, 2013) – Rutgers senior free safety Duron Harmon (Magnolia, Del.) was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft Friday evening by the NewEngland Patriots. Harmon went with pick No. 91 to New England as the Patriots selected two RU defensive backs in the third round.

    Junior cornerback Logan Ryan (Berlin, N.J.) was selected with the 83rd pick by the Patriots earlier Friday. Harmon now joins a Patriots squad that features former RU teammates Devin McCourty, Justin Francis and Ryan.

    Harmon finished his career as a two-time All-BIG EAST First Team selection. He started all 13 games in 2012, collecting 50 tackles and seven pass breakups.

    2011: Started all 13 games at safety, totaling 39 tackles (33 solo) … ranked second in the BIG EAST with five interceptions earning All-BIG EAST First Team honors … first two interceptions of his career came in theseason-opening victory over North Carolina Central (9/1) … scored first career touchdown on a 37-yard INT return vs. the Eagles … third interception of the season at North Carolina (9/10) and returned the pick 45 yards to the UNC two-yard line … four tackles and notched his fourth interception of the season in the 34-10 win vs. Pitt (10/8) … recorded five tackles to match a career-best in the 20-17 overtime win vs. USF and snagged a game-changing interception of the Bulls’ B.J. Daniels in overtime to put the ball back in the hands of RU’s offense … tied his career-best with five tackles vs. Cincinnati (11/19) and at UConn (11/26) ... member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Football Team.
