Five former Rutgers football players were on NFL rosters spanning three playoff teams in the conference championship round. The Ravens and the Patriots each had two Scarlet Knights on their roster. Rutgers is guaranteed to have a former student-athlete win the Super Bowl, sending two players from Baltimore and one from San Francisco.
Anthony Davis (2007-09), OT, San Francisco 49ers

The starting tackle helped pave the way for the 49ers, who rushed for 149 yards in the game including three touchdowns on the ground. Davis blocked for running back Frank Gore, who picked up carried the ball 29 times for 90 yards.
Justin Francis (2007-11), DL, New England Patriots

Made his first start of the season at defensive end and had a season-best four solo tackles. He also tied his season-high with five combined hits.
Devin McCourty (2005-09), DB, New England Patriots

Started at safety and made eight tackles, including four solo. He also returned four kickoffs for 89 yards, averaging 22.3 yards per return.
Ray Rice (2005-07), RB, Baltimore Ravens

Carried the ball 19 times for 48 yards, including a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to give the Ravens a 7-3 lead. The running back also caught three passes out of the backfield for 22 yards.
Alex Silvestro (2007-10), TE, Baltimore Ravens

The tight end was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 7. He will be a member of a Super Bowl-bound team for the second-straight season as he was on the Patriots’ roster last season.
