KNIGHTS IN THE NFL – Week 12

  • There are currently 20 former Rutgers football players on NFL rosters spanning 11 teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the most former Scarlet Knight players on their roster with four.

    Kenny Britt (2006-08), WR, Tennessee Titans
    Jacksonville 24, Tennessee 19
    Scored the lone touchdown for the Titans, hauling in a six-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter. In all, he had three receptions for 25 yards in the loss. 

    Anthony Davis (2007-09), OT, San Francisco 49ers
    San Francisco 31, New Orleans 21
    The starting right tackle helped the 49ers to 144 rushing yards in the win.

    Justin Francis (2007-11), DL, New England Patriots
    New England 49, New York Jets 19
    Saw action on the defensive line in the victory but did not record any tackles.

    Jonathan Freeny (2007-10), LB, Miami Dolphins
    Miami 24, Seattle 21
    Played in the win but did not record any statistics. 

    Gary Gibson (2001-04), DT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Atlanta 24, Tampa Bay 23
    Appeared in the game and recorded two solo tackles.

    Clark Harris (2003-06), LS, Cincinnati Bengals
    Cincinnati 34, Oakland 10
    Primary long snapper for the Bengals and recorded one special teams tackle in the win.

    Kevin Haslam (2006-09), OT, San Diego Chargers
    Baltimore 16, San Diego 13 (OT)
    Active but did not play in the loss to the Ravens after signing a two-year contract on Nov. 24.

    George Johnson (2006-09), DE, Minnesota Vikings
    Chicago 28, Minnesota 10
    The defensive end was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 9. 

    Joe Lefeged (2007-10), S, Indianapolis Colts
    Indianapolis 20, Buffalo 13
    Returned four kickoffs for 68 yards in the win.

    Brian Leonard (2002-06), RB, Cincinnati Bengals
    Cincinnati 34, Oakland 10
    Saw action in the backfield but did not record any statistics in the victory.

    Kevin Malast (2005-08), LB, Tennessee Titans
    Jacksonville 24, Tennessee 19
    On injured reserve list as a linebacker for the Titans.

    Joe Martinek (2007-11), RB, New York Giants
    New York Giants 38, Green Bay 10
    The running back was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 9.

    Devin McCourty (2005-09), CB, New England Patriots
    New England 49, New York Jets 19
    Made his presence felt in the blowout victory, totaling seven tackles (four solo). He also amassed two tackles and a forced fumble on special teams. McCourty returned two kickoffs for 29 yards.

    Jason McCourty (2005-08), CB, Tennessee Titans
    Jacksonville 24, Tennessee 19
    Notched four tackles, including three solo, and returned one kickoff for 14 yards.

    Ray Rice (2005-07), RB, Baltimore Ravens
    Baltimore 16, San Diego 13 (OT)
    Carried the ball 22 times for a game-high 97 yards against the Chargers. He was also a threat in the passing game, catching a team-high eight passes for 67 yards through the air. Rice converted on a critical fourth-and-29 play late in the fourth quarter, catching a pass to pick up the first down for the longest fourth down conversion since 2001. The drive would lead to a Ravens field goal to tie the game and send it to overtime.

    Mohamed Sanu (2010-12), WR, Cincinnati Bengals
    Cincinnati 34, Oakland 10
    Caught a career-high two touchdown passes for the Bengals. The receiver caught a team-best five passes totaling 29 yards. He also rushed the ball once for five yards.

    Alex Silvestro (2007-10), TE, Baltimore Ravens
    Baltimore 16, San Diego 13 (OT)
    The tight end was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 7.   

    Tiquan Underwood (2005-08), WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Atlanta 24, Tampa Bay 23
    Tied for the team lead with five catches against the Falcons. He finished second on the squad with 77 receiving yards.  

    Desmond Wynn (2007-11), OL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Atlanta 24, Tampa Bay 23
    On injured reserve list as an offensive lineman.

    Jeremy Zuttah (2004-07), OL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Atlanta 24, Tampa Bay 23
    Started at left guard in the loss to the Falcons.
