PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 7, 2012) – Rutgers is ranked No. 19 in this week’s USA Today/Coaches Top 25 and No. 20 in the AP Top 25. The Scarlet Knights also debut at No. 19 in the first Harris Poll of the 2012 season.

The last time RU was ranked in the Top 20 of both the AP and USA Today/Coaches polls was in September of 2007.

The Scarlet Knights (5-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) defeated Connecticut (3-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) 19-3 Saturday afternoon to improve to 5-0 on the season. RU is 5-0 for the first time since 2006 and just the third time since 1976.

Head coach Kyle Flood became the second coach in school history to begin his RU coaching career 5-0.
