Foster is the first Scarlet Knight to be named a first team All-American on defense in the modern era.

Their votes have been combined with the fan votes, and the winner will be announced on December 16.

Schiano was named the conference’s coach of the year after guiding the Scarlet Knights to a 10-2 record, including a 5-2 mark which tied for second in the league standings.

HOUSTON, Texas – For the first time in school history, Rutgers will appear in a bowl game for the second consecutive season as the Scarlet Knights officially accepted a bid to the inaugural Texas Bowl vs. Kansas State of the Big XII Conference. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 28 from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
