December-22-06 Five Scarlet Knights Receive ECAC Football All-Star Honors
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The honors continue to roll in for the No. 16 Rutgers football team as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its annual All-Star team for the 2006 season. Five Scarlet Knights earned a spot on the 2006 All-Star team, including senior tight end Clark Harris (Manahawkin, N.J.), senior punter Joe Radigan (Hoboken, N.J.), junior defensive tackle Eric Foster (Homestead, Fla.), junior offensive guard Jeremy Zuttah (Edison, N.J.) and sophomore running back Ray Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.).

HOUSTON — The Houston Division of the American Heart Association today announced the finalists for the Paul Bear Bryant College Football Coach of the Year Award. The winner will be chosen by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) and named live at an award dinner benefiting the American Heart Association on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in downtown Houston.

December-16-06 Leonard Captures Another First Team All-America Honor
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior fullback Brian Leonard was named a First Team All-America by ESPN.com, the second All-America honor in 2006 for Leonard. Leonard, Rutgers’ all-time career leader in scoring and receptions, was also named a First Team All-America by Pro Football Weekly earlier in the week.

BOSTON – Rutgers University Head Football Coach Greg Schiano is the inaugural Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award, honoring him as the college football coach who best exemplifies responsibility and excellence on and off the field of play. An elite voting committee of College Football Hall of Fame players and coaches, national college football media, and Liberty Mutual representatives, as well as a contribution from fan voting at www.coachoftheyear.com selected Schiano from among 10 finalists.
