TRENTON, N.J. – On behalf of the entire New Jersey Legislature, Senate President Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today presented the football team of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with a joint ceremonial resolution to commemorate their remarkable achievements during the 2006 football season. The resolution, sponsored by Sen. Codey, Assemblyman John McKeon and Assemblyman Mims Hackett, lauded the Scarlet Knights for their 11-2 season and first bowl championship.

January-12-07 Four Scarlet Knights to Play Final Collegiate Game Saturday
HOUSTON, Texas – Four seniors from Rutgers University will play their final collegiate football game Saturday in the inaugural 2007 Inta Juice North South All-Star Classic in Houston, Texas. Ramel Meekins, Devraun Thompson, Cameron Stephenson and Darnell Stapleton will appear in the college all-star game, which will be televised live nationally at 12 noon on ESPN2.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers football team was ranked 12th in both the final Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 rankings released Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights finished the season 11-2 overall, including the school’s first bowl championship with a 37-10 victory over Kansas State in the inaugural Texas Bowl.
