OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Rutgers junior free safety Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was named to the 2007 Preseason Watch List for the Jim Thorpe Award Wednesday. A Second Team BIG EAST selection in 2006, Greene finished second on the team with 82 tackles and led the squad with four interceptions last season.

July-17-07 BIG EAST Announces 2007 Television Schedule
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference will be among the nation’s most televised conferences in 2007. The BIG EAST has agreements with ABC, ESPN and ESPN Regional Television that will once again give the conference extensive television exposure. In addition to games on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, a number of contests will also be on ESPNU, ESPN Classic and ESPN360, ESPN’s online broadband network. The BIG EAST and ESPN have already agreed on a new six-year contract that will further enhance the league’s exposure. The new football agreement will begin with the 2008 regular season and run through 2013.

June-25-07 Three RU Standouts Named to Maxwell and Bednarik Watch Lists
ROSLYN, Pa. – Maxwell Football Club President Ron Jaworski today announced the 2007 Watch Lists for the 71st Maxwell Award and the 13th Chuck Bednarik Award. Each list is comprised of 65 players who were selected based on their performance during the 2006 season. Rutgers has three players on the lists, including junior running back Ray Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) on the Maxwell Award Watch List while senior defensive tackle Eric Foster (Homestead, Fla.) and junior free safety Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) are on the Bednarik Award Watch List.

June-22-07 Rutgers Announces Two Football Kickoff Times
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Kickoff times for two Rutgers home games vs. Buffalo and Norfolk State were announced today. The Scarlet Knights open the 2007 season Thursday, August 30 vs. Buffalo at 7 p.m. at Rutgers Stadium. Homecoming 2007 will take place Saturday, Sept. 15 at 3:30 p.m. vs. Norfolk State. Television information for both games will be announced in July.

June-12-07 Four RU Football Standouts Named to Preseason Watch Lists
DALLAS, Texas – The Football Writers Association of America has released the preseason watch lists for two of its major awards, the Outland Trophy and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Rutgers is well represented on both lists. On the Outland Trophy Watch List, senior defensive tackle Eric Foster (Homestead, Fla.) along with senior offensive tackles Pedro Sosa (Union City, N.J.) and Jeremy Zuttah (Edison, N.J.) were selected while Foster and junior free safety Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) were tabbed to the Nagurski Trophy Watch List.
