  • PISCATAWAY, N.J.  (August 20, 2014) – The 2014 promotional calendar for the Rutgers field hockey team has been released. Rutgers is scheduled to play 12 home games at the Bauer Track and Field Complex during the Scarlet Knights’ inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference.

RU will welcome four conference foes to Piscataway – Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Indiana. Additionally the nonconference schedule is highlighted by early visits from Bucknell, Temple, and Lafayette, a matchup with 2013 NCAA qualifier New Hampshire, and closing the year by hosting Penn.

Beginning with the season opener on August 29, fans can enter a ticket giveaway for the Michigan Football game. Names will be collected at every home game at the marketing table, with the winners selected at the October third game against Michigan State. Fans may enter one time at each home game they attend to increase their chances of winning. The winner must be present on October 3 to claim the tickets.

Rutgers students will have the opportunity to earn points towards football tickets with the Scarlet Lottery when Rutgers hosts Temple on Friday, September 5th.

Sunday, September 7 will be the ‘Stick it to Cancer’ game for Cancer Awareness Day, with the t-shirts for sale to raise money for the cause.

On September 21st the Scarlet Knights will have their Big Ten Conference home opener as they host the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the first 100 fans can take home an inaugural Big Ten game t-shirt.

Rutgers fans should wear black to the game on Friday, October 3rd as Michigan State, a 2013 NCAA qualifier, comes to town. The winners of the Michigan football ticket giveaway will also be announced at halftime.

The final weekend of the regular season features a pair of promotions. October 31 versus Indiana will be alumni/letterwinner appreciation day, as well as a special Halloween promotion at halftime. The Scarlet Knights then close the season on Senior Day against Penn, where Rutgers will recognize a pair of senior captains. The game against the Quakers will also be Junior Knights Day.
