PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 21, 2013) – A squad comprised of Senior and Junior U.S. National Women’s Indoor athletes will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina to compete in a series of matches against competitors from Argentina, Argentina U19 and Uruguay, March 21_28. Featured on the squad are RU head coach Meredith Long (Ocean City, N.J.) and assistant coach Wesley Drew (Virginia Beach, Va.) who will make their second appearance on the international stage.
Long and Drew were instrumental members of the Senior Squad that won the ArminenTurnier RohrMax Cup after three days of competitive international play in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria in January. The win marked the first-ever gold for the U.S. National Indoor team on the international level.
In the RohrMax Cup competition, the U.S. team finished 4-1 overall, and finished with a 3-2 victory over Slavia Prag in the championship game.
The Scarlet Knight coaches and the rest of Team USA play their first game of the eight-game series at 7 p.m. (EST) on Friday, Mar. 22.
